Medicare Rebates

All of the team are able to offer a Medicare rebate if referred under the Medicare Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). The rebate that you will be entitled to will vary according to which professional you consult.
The rebates are consistent with current Government, Medicare and Allied Health Professional Guidelines and vary accordingly.
Please note that there is a maximum to how many sessions for which you can obtain a rebate – an initial six sessions followed by a further four sessions in any calendar year.
No referral is required unless you wish to claim a rebate from Medicare.
Rebates can only be provided if we have copy of the referral letter and when the person listed on the referral attends the session.

You may also be eligible for a rebate covering a portion of the session fee depending on your level of private heath cover.
Health fund rebates do not require a GP referral.
It is a good idea to check with your fund to ensure that they cover mental health consultations
Please also note that you cannot claim from Medicare and your health fund for the same consultation.

Cancellation of an assessment appointment must be made 48 hours prior to that appointment.
During the assessment period, since alternative bookings are unlikely at such short notice, our policy is to charge full regular fees for missed appointments and cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice.
A regular ongoing psychotherapy means this session has been allocated and held for you on a regular basis. In this case, regardless of any notice beforehand, missed sessions will always be charged for unless you have negotiated an alternative arrangement with your therapist. If a problem with unusual circumstances has arisen regarding your reason for cancelling, please discuss this with your therapist.
